Our NaNoWriMo write in was the last library event of the semester. Thanks to all the aspiring writers who turned up to work on their stories. We look forward to a line up of events in the Spring, including a Nasa exhibit about meteors. Ideas are always appreciated. What do you want to do?
TexShare updates will continue. They have a tab to sort by subject. Today I want to share some of the databases in the Literature Resources. It is no longer necessary to have physical books for criticism and analysis. The resources available through TexShare cover collections of books, poetry, short stories, plays, and references in far more depth than any one library could hope to. Your students should be able to find their answers here.
Edom, TX hosts a Gingerbread House Contest this time of year. Teams are welcome to create an entry and this might make a great class project. It is a 3.5 hour drive to deliver your entries, but might be worth it for the fun of making it. If you love the idea, but hate the thought of the trip, get with me. I am thinking about ways to start this here in Eastland County.
As part of our International Year, this week we are celebrating Nigeria and its Nollywood Film Festival. Nollywood is the term for the Nigerian film industry, one of the largest in the world. We will be showing Nollywood films in the library lobby all week, so stop by to enjoy the drama and culture.
