Welcome to the last week of class. Of course, finals are coming up soon, but they are an entirely different animal. As you are finishing up those last few assignments or prepping for that final, don’t forget that Golemon Library is here for you. We are open until 9:00 and have tons of tools to make your work easier. Check us out!

Ranger men's basketball has made it to round two of the National Junior College Athletic Association. They will be playing their next game tomorrow, Wednesday, April 20th at 12 Noon. They will be playing John A. Logan CC out of Carterville, IL. All the games are being streamed in the auditorium at Golemon Library, so drop in anytime, but especially tomorrow to root for your Rangers!

Libraries are a calming refuge in a world of chaos. When the world gets to be too much, visit the library and relax with a book or some quiet study time. Of course, it doesn't always have to be quiet. We have group study areas and even check out dry erase markers so you can collaborate on a big board. Whatever you are looking for you will find it at the library.

Golemon Library is constantly on the lookout for new technologies and ideas that will enable us to serve you better. As a result, we have looked in the well-known benefits of animal companionship and the healing that comes from reading to therapy animals. We are pleased to announce that effective April 10th we are starting a new program called BIBLIOPETS. With our new pet-lending program you will be able to check out a kitten, puppy, turtle, or even a pony to read to at home.
Of course, the benefits of checking out therapy animals goes beyond reading. It also teaches responsibility, provides entertainment and offers mental health support. Animals who are not checked out would live in the library and be cared for by volunteers until they are placed on hold.
For further information please visit our information site.
Please remember that all library books, calculators, and other library materials are due back to the library by the end of the day on Thursday, May 6. Any materials not returned by that date will be marked as lost and a hold will be placed on your account until the items have been returned.
Remember text books need to be returned to the book store, not the library.
