Welcome back and I hope everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving.  The library was packed with students who couldn't get home for the holidays.  I definitely saw some culture clash when no one would eat the cranberry sauce.  I knew peanut butter was kind of an American-only thing.  Now I know that is true of cranberry sauce also.  I wish everyone could have been there.  Next year will be even better.

Now it is time to look toward December and the next set of holidays.  How was your Black Friday?  Are you ready for the holidays?  Still have a ton of gifts to wrap?  Go green this season with these sustainable gift-wrapping tips: ow.ly/wJOQ50Q5l4e.

It feels a little awkward to write a post to honor myself, but along with the other veterans serving now at Ranger College, I want to say thanks to everyone for your support.   Since it is also Native American Heritage Month, I especially want to take a moment to honor those whose connection to America is even deeper than my own.  Here are some ways you can show your support and appreciation for our Native American veterans: ow.ly/W6oj50PSKMb.

Today, we mark a pivotal moment in world history and remember those who served.  Most people today remember where we were on 9/11 but most of those who remembered Pearl Harbor are lost to us now.  Look back to those stories through news coverage from the time.  Explore front-page coverage from local newspapers and gain multiple perspectives on this day in our @NewsBank “Historical Newspaper Archives” resource. Here’s an overview: bit.ly/3sSxJiy.
