Black Gold: A History of Texas Oil Boomtowns

The home of our traveling oil exhibit

Would you like to show the Black Gold:  A History of Texas Oil Boomtowns at your venue?

There is no charge to borrow the exhibit.  It has been well received at school career days, local festivals, museums, history conferences, and colleges.  Almost any event or activity would benefit from the conversation that starts around this informative exhibit.

For events in Eastland County and the surrounding area within an hour’s drive of Ranger College, we would be happy to deliver the exhibit to you.  You can also pick it up at the Golemon Library.  More distant locations would need to pay for shipping to and from their location.

We do some general advertising for the exhibit with social media announcements regarding its current location, but if you want more specific advertising, you would need to pay for that as well.  We have often used Humanities Texas as a source of funding for shipping and advertising.  In fact, they provided most of the funding for this exhibit.

If you would like to borrow the exhibit, first check the calendar for the dates you would like.  Then contact Helen at library@rangercollege.edu.  I will help you coordinate pickup, delivery, or shipping.

Please contact us at 254-647-1414 or library@rangercollege.edu.
